I listened to Mary speak at a women’s conference at a time in my life when I felt I was starting to become a negative person and I was frustrated with different aspects of my life. It was one of those moments where even though there were probably about four hundred people in the room, I felt as if she was speaking just to me. I knew I needed to do something different in order to change the course my life was taking and I got really excited that this was the answer I was looking for to get me to a more positive place in my life. What I learned while working with Mary and Jane is that there are always different ways to look at any one situation. They both taught me that what I needed was patience, and they gave me the tools and resources I needed in order to be able to communicate my point of view in such a way so that people can understand it better. They helped me identify my triggers so that now I am better able to navigate my way around difficult people and difficult conversations.
