Maryia is one of the most capable and exceptional staff members I have managed in my 20 years in the non-profit world. Maryia worked under my supervision in managing all aspects of a highly complex, global fellowship program for several years. The work involved skills in numerous areas, and she excelled in them all. Most importantly, Maryia’s ability to understand and solve complex issues was truly unparalleled. She is also the kind of self-starter who can consistently be relied on to get things done with a minimum of supervision. Our work involved factors as diverse as: setting up intricate, detailed work plans; closely communicating with people from numerous countries on topics that required great attention to detail; diplomatically dealing with internal staff in various departments, such as finance and grants management; and overseeing large-scale selection processes. In addition, her work involved detailed, complex data management and data presentation to oversight boards. However, as amazing as Maryia’s analytical skills are, what topped all of this off was the fact that she was remarkably easy to work with, as attested to the fact that she had excellent relationships with all of the (approximately 20) staff in our department, as well as numerous outside departments. She’s a creative problem-solver, efficient and reliable colleague, and a quick study who learns at a remarkable speed. These qualities, along with an innate ability to organize complex processes and remain disciplined in executing work timelines, will make her a crucial asset to any organization or team. I feel lucky to have managed her, and she was a huge factor behind the consistent success of the projects she worked on for me. I can’t recommend her highly enough.
