I’ve known Mary Ellen for several years now, and we worked together on revitalizing the Almay beauty brand. Such fun and amazing times those were. As a member of her team, what I appreciated most was not her vision and drive for results or her passion for beauty / brand building, but her compassion for fellow team members and commitment to developing and making us stronger. Organizations these days can all use more of the intangibles that she brings to the table as a marketing leader or GM. We want to feel valued, trusted, and empowered (not micromanaged or dictated to) and that is Mary Ellen’s modus operandi. She is great to work with, and would be an incredible asset for any organization looking for executive talent to build out their marketing function.

MaryEllen is a leader who empowers subject matter experts to do what they do best. This trust, autonomy, and support were supremely meaningful and motivating as her direct report. In my time on her team, she made digital and social a top priority – driving a brand re-imagination that encompassed fresh content, influencer, and partnership strategies to increase brand awareness and community. We were able to double Almay's community size during my time working under MaryEllen's leadership. She was also a personal mentor who helped me grow as a manager, leader, and corporate player - helping me learn valuable lessons on how to effectively leverage people's strengths and inspire the best work from a team.
