  As well as being a frontline social worker, providing the initial response to the identification of potential risks to child safety in Surrey, I am involved in all aspects of safeguarding children including assessments, interviewing children, child protection investigations, assisting and advising partner agencies on child protection cases, as well as preparing reports for court proceedings. I engage with local law enforcement and health services promoting and implementing safeguarding policies and procedures. In addition, I assist them in overcoming challenges when collaborating with Children Services, including the development of their safeguarding procedures and policies. I am ABE (Achieving Best Evidence) trained which helps me to carry out child protection investigations through interviewing children. I carry out assessments to identify children’s holistic needs and risks and the impact of these on children’s development.
