My internship at Hadef & Partners, one of the leading independent law firms in the UAE, gave me a deeper insight into the field of law than ever before. After learning about IP, I was able to directly apply my knowledge through working on an IP-related case for a company looking to expand into another country. I additionally attended a court hearing at the DIFC courts which was a unique experience that allowed me to engage directly with the local legal scene. Finally, I was involved in a business development project which included research into top European law firms, with a particular interest in those having Middle East/UAE desks. Show less

During InvestIN Education’s virtual Young Lawyer Programme, I was able to grasp fundamental concepts about the field of Law and refine critical skills over the course of two days. Through public speaking coaching exercises and the human rights session, I could improve upon my public speaking and advocacy, whilst the witness examination allowed me to think innovatively and strategically. Taking part in a family law client conference sharpened my client awareness and handling, as did the international business case study, which additionally improved my commercial awareness. Finally, all of the exercises were conducted within time limits and often with little preparation, so I had to make use of time management and critical thinking skills when working under pressure.
