I had the great pleasure of working with Mary Spees during my eight years at Cirque du Soleil. First, as Artistic Director of Cirque du Soleil’s Mystere at The Treasure Island Hotel in Las Vegas and then as Senior Artistic Director when I oversaw all of Cirque du Soleil’s shows in Orlando, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Cirque du Soleil brings together people of many different cultures and backgrounds. This diversity helps to drive the company’s creativity but can sometimes cause conflicts at the workplace and backstage. Together, Mary and I, resolved many complex employee and artist issues during our years of working together. Mary brought a compassionate, fair and professional perspective to every situation and I was always impressed by her fair-minded guidance. Mary has the ability to step back from an emotional situation and give an objective point of view that deescalates a problem. But above all, no matter the situation, she brings her natural warmth and humor. Working with Mary was an absolute delight.
Diane Quinn (she, her, hers)
I had the great pleasure of working closely with Mary. She is a dedicated HR professional with amazing technical and soft skills. Able to problem solve and offer creative solutions to situations as they arise. I would recommend her highly for your organization, large or small. Diane Quinn
