Former CEO and now International Ambassador/Advisor for EIT Climate-KIC (climate-kic.org), responsible for extending the KIC vision and impact beyond Europe. Founded in 2010, Climate-KIC is now Europe's leading public-private partnership addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation. It brings together, inspires and empowers a dynamic community to build a zero carbon economy with the vision to enable Europe to lead the global transformation towards sustainability. It is supported by EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology), a body of the European Union. Mary was CEO from 2010 to 2014, building Climate-KIC from ~20 partners to more than 200 - ia cross-sectorial innovation community including large corporates, small and medium enterprises (SME), universities, research institutions, city and regional councils and NGOs. Her current focus is Australia where she is working with colleagues to establish a 'Climate-KIC'-like entity, focussing on the climate challenges and opportunities in Australia and broader Asia Pacific region.
