I have had the pleasure of meeting in-person with experts in regeneration, collaborating with photographers and videographers to create content for funders, and creating digestible stories to share with our target audiences. In addition, I have traveled all over the County to meet stakeholders where they are to gather data on what makes regeneration possible for all parties and what barriers to entry different parties face. The Regenerative Monterey project is looking to compile the necessary data needed to better understand what would make the County less extractive and more inclusive and what tangible projects and programs would be necessary to achieve a circular economy. My role with SecondMuse has been working to put people and the planet side by side to come up with solutions to kelp deforestation, the housing crisis, inequity in the food industry, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The data/research collected from the first phase of the project will inform the next phase of implementation, and I am eager to see some of these tangible solutions comes to life! Show less

I spent the summer interviewing different stakeholders, gathering information on processes that engage different fishers in governance processes, and compiled this data into a concise and detailed summary for our WWF Peru team. This data collection aimed to show that sustainable practices in the fishing industry prove to support coastal communities, and Peru's largest fisheries would benefit economically by implementing similar practices. I researched the Bahamas' tourism industry and primary sources of country-wide GDP, created a strategy for the communication angle our team would pursue, and collected the stories showcasing livelihoods that rely on healthy coastal habitats. This project aimed to show funders and stakeholders that ocean-centric jobs are not the only jobs in the Bahamas that require a healthy ecosystem. All livelihoods on Caribbean islands require a healthy ocean to attract tourists that spend money at restaurants, hotels, taxis...etc. My favorite part about this project was talking to fishers in the area to better understand how the economy of the Bahamas all relies on a healthy ocean ecosystem. Additionally, I acted as a conflict mediator, promoting positive communication and resolving conflicts among campers. As a mentor, I formed meaningful connections with the campers, providing guidance, support, and encouragement throughout their camp experience.
