  de Gournay www.degournay.com de Gournay was founded in 1986 by Claud Cecil Gurney. The need to restore the antique wallpaper from his family house led him to research the history and techniques of this traditional Chinese art form. In 1993 Claud’s nephew Dominic Evans-Freke joined the company, together their passion for antiques, Chinoiserie and beautiful hand crafted products led to huge worldwide success. de Gournay has worked alongside leading interior designers and architects on prestigious projects both private and commercial worldwide. de Gournay papers can be seen featured in Chanel’s recent advertising campaign, lining the walls of The White House, Washington, adorning the penthouse in Shanghai’s Peninsular hotel and decorating the dining area in the Ritz Carlton Beijing. Using the same techniques as in the 18th Century, Today de Gournay specializes in handpainted wallpaper, fabrics, porcelain and furniture. Our goal is to help you design, create and realise the ultimate hand-painted interior. Our designers' unique understanding of style and colour together with our large database of historic interiors can be used to produce a happy, vibrant and peaceful enviroment in your home that you will appreciate forever and that will be admired by all.
