I was a teaching assistant in the Concourse learning community at MIT, a freshman program geared towards students with an interest in the humanities. In the course, students read sections from ancient thinkers in order to better understand the good life. My responsibilities included holding weekly recitations and working with students on their papers. I helped investigate the role of the amygdala and pre-frontal cortex in fear learning in rats. My responsibilities included running behavioral experiments on rats, building components for electrical implants, sacrificing animals and preparing brain tissue to be imaged, and animal care. Contributed to publication in Nature Neuroscience. I helped investigate the role of the amygdala and pre-frontal cortex in fear learning in rats. Director, Junction
-
Feb 2016 - Aug 2016
I directed Junction, a summer-long mentoring program for high school students. Along with my co-director, I hired a team of six mentors, facilitated a highly selective student admissions process, and oversaw the logistics of the entire program, including a two-week long intensive retreat for the students at MIT.
