Mary never ceases to amaze me. Read Aloud Delaware continues to keep up with the trends despite having a very small staff. This agency taught me how to treat people well. One of the latest things that Mary and Read Aloud Delaware is doing is posting very colorful pieces of information on Facebook so that everyone knows how important it is to read aloud to your child. Great job Mary! Their passion never goes away.

Read Aloud Delaware is a statewide nonprofit agency dedicated to promoting literacy. Our mission is to ensure that each preschool child in Delaware is regularly read to one-on-one. I am responsible for raising at least enough money to match our state allocation. Currently, I also lead the direct program work for Parent Outreach statewide and in New Castle County.

Gave tours of the home of James Monroe. The house is located just outside Charlottesville and a few miles beyond Monticello. James Monroe called his country home Highland, but later owners changed the name to Ash Lawn. I also solicited sponsorships and grants for the Ash Lawn Opera Festival. Helped train faculty and staff to evaluate the performanc of their work students. Reviewed evaluations from students and staff and faculty to revise and improve the job offerings. These jobs were not paid; they helped defray overhead and helped students develop resume listings. Show less
