  Work as one of two head student voices in the planning and execution of the integration, move-in process, mental and emotional transition, social support foundation, and academic preparation of Rice's 2023 matriculants. Responsibilities include training, mentoring, and overseeing the work of the O-Week Coordinators at each residential college (33 people in total) in leadership, management, organization, diversity and inclusion, graphic design, team selection, Advisor training, event planning, sponsorship communications, and more. This is achieved through individual-based mentorship and through leading a group-wide class through the spring and summer, four project-focused committee meetings per week in the summer, two intensive weekend retreats, and several meetings (as needed for specific projects). Furthermore, Student Directors are responsible for communicating and collaborating with several campus wide organizations, in addition to all eleven residential colleges, to coordinate a harmonious and balanced campus-wide event schedule for the weeks of Advisor Training and Orientation Week itself.
