Performing choice task experiments to further understand the motivation behind specific social behaviours, as well as building multi-site fiber photometry implants, and aiding PhD students in video data analysis. Gaining comprehensive training in a variety of circuits and behavioural neuroscience laboratory techniques. Present project progress, learning curves, and choice task analysis at bi-weekly data-sharing meetings. Honours Dissertation Student - Doherty Lab

Investigated the potential of a novel therapeutic agent for inducing differentiation of neuroblastoma cells and the involvement of the Hippo signalling pathway as a potential cellular mechanism of action through conducting morphological analyses of a differentiation phenotype, ELISAs for differentiation biomarkers, and ICC fluorescence microscopy analyses. Also developed an ImageJ script to aid in my data analysis, which is now being utilised by PhD and Masters Students in the Doherty Lab. Introduced the first programming experience for Neuroscientist at St Andrews by organising a Python workshop focused on live data analysis and writing scripts in ImageJ to aid in more efficient image analysis. The workshop reached maximal attendance and lecturers in the school are now looking to introduce formal programming into the degree curriculum, following the outcome of this initiative.

Neuroscience Society President

As the current President of the Neuroscience Society at the University of St Andrews I manage a team of 13 committee members and together we organise academic and social events for students studying or interested in the field of Neuroscience. Previous events have included a Welcome Bonfire, a 'Neuro Networking' event to discover where St Andrews alumni have pursued careers and potential prospects of neuroscience graduates, information sessions for prospective students, and a monthly Neuroscience Journal Club. I have also acted as a liaison between Students and Staff and stood on the School of Psychology and Neuroscience Student Staff Consultative Committee.

Carried out a seven-week project in which I identified monosynaptic inputs to the lateral vestibular nucleus using retrograde g-deleted rabies virus tracing. Gained further laboratory experience in ZEISS fluorescence microscopy, and overlaying Allen Brain Atlas images in ImageJ and implemented a Python plugin to make this process more efficient. CodeFirst: Girls Beginners HTML/CSS Web Development Course

CodeFirst: Girls offers a 7 week Beginners Course, targeted at teaching girls HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and JQuery. At the end of the course a friend and I developed a website utilising our newly learned skills and won 2nd place for "Overall Best Website" at the St Andrews CodeFirst: Girls Competition. Worked with Dr. Nadine Gut and Dr. Juan Mena on their exploration of the composition, connectivity, and behavioural role of neurons in the PPN. Executed a behavioural paradigm and assisted in the analysis of the collected data. Gained experience using a Vibratrome, performing immunohistochemistry, and imaging with a confocal microscope.
