I have been volunteering at Dublin Comic Con for six years. I am assigned to work with the shows guests. This involves ensuring that the guest arrives at their photo opportunities, radio interviews and guest appearances on time. I also ensure that the guest received their lunch and any requests that they have. I am responsible for handling the money for the guest signings from the public and liaising with the guests agent to ensure that all expectations are met and everything runs smoothly. Through my volunteer work with DCC I have met many wonderful people, stars as well as normal people and made wonderful friends there. Show less

      • 2002 - 2006

Horses have always been my passion. I started helping out at my local yard at weekends to learn how to look after a horse. This included general yard duties such as horse care and management, care and maintenance of tack and all horse equipment, mucking out of stables, yard safety etc. Having ridden horses and ponies since I was five years old this role developed to include equestrian riding instruction/coaching to people of all ages and abilities. I enjoy learning about horses so much that I have studied for and passed my BHS Stage I and II exams (including the Riding and Road Safety exam). I continue to study for they Preliminary Teacher Training exam (PTT- now Stage II Teaching exam). Through my work at Killegar Stables I was finally able to live my childhood dream of keeping my own horse fifteen years ago. Although she is now semi retired and we no longer compete, in our time we enjoyed competing at both AIRC intermediate level and Dressage Ireland Preliminary level shows. I continue to ride and aim to sit my Stage II teaching exam and progress onto my Stage III complete exams. They are just something I enjoy doing! Show less
