Bio
Lisa Tromovitch
I highly recommend Mary Ann Rodgers as both an actor and as a director. She has both the intelligence and training, plus the spirit and sense of humour, to create unique, engaging characterizations onstage. Both in the roles she acted and in the show she directed, the audience was able to engage with the characters' humor and passion. Mary Ann finds the complexity in a role and is not afraid to let that depth and breadth come through. She doesn't need to be "typed," but can play multiple roles distinctly. LSF does primarily classical work, and her text work and research were admirable on the Jane Austen, the Shakespeare, and Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac. Ms. Rodgers is a consummate professional, a joy to work with, team player, and all that side of employment, too. She is also willing to mentor younger professionals if asked, but never oversteps. She's a great communicator. I have no reservations about recommending her highly for theater work of various types, acting, directing and teaching.

Middle school students received a rigorous and lively introduction to the Spanish language and Spanish-speaking world. I use all the tools I have at hand, including traditional grammar instruction, but am solidly committed to a communicative approach where I adapt theater games for the Spanish language classroom.
