  An average issue of Previews runs well over 600 pages each month, and a majority of those pages must be designed in-house, from raw publisher data to layout to publication. Along the way, my duties entail overseeing the writing and editing of all copy, approving all images and layouts, and setting the overall order of each issue. The general time frame from writing to publication takes approximately three weeks.   I came to Bud Plant Inc., a Northern California distributor of comics books, in May of 1986, first as a Customer Service representative, and later as writer for their monthly catalog, the Bud Plant Quick List. This position would eventually lead me to Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc., following Diamond's acquisition of BPI's West Coast distribution network in 1988.
