I have known Martin for 8 years and have worked directly with him on two large scale implementation projects, as well as a number of smaller projects. Whilst both of these projects were challenging, Martin’s ability to analyse any issue and to obtain buy-in from senior stakeholders and operational SMEs alike proved crucial in ensuring project deliverables were met and, more importantly, had operational buy-in. His detailed knowledge of operational areas, especially front office and corporate actions, his wider business knowledge and his supportive and friendly manner ensures he is comfortable in all environments – from Board to shop floor. His approach to problem-solving, his detailed understanding of Systems and how they relate to Operations were key to resolving a number of key issues that may otherwise have required software development. His understanding of Wealth Management operations, systems and processes mean he will add value in any environment and I would be delighted to work alongside him again.

      Engaged by the COO and Board to address issues such as using a third party portfolio management system incorrectly and a lack of formal change management protocol without any business change facility. I identified quick wins and created a roadmap and patented FIS “travel plan” that the client could use while providing usual stakeholder management in respect of the various operational business streams. Began to formulate and deliver a change management process with the head of Ops and other business leads. Result: I immediately increased potential STP from 0% to 100% by documenting what process should be adopted increasing potential headline trading volumes from 600 Trades pd to in excess of 10,000 pd without the need for increased headcount. I then delivered Calastone trading on time and on budget reducing operational and third party implementation cost by in excess of £30k.
