Participation in a research project financed by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) on the internationalisation of technology transfer in non-university research institutions: - Collect data on International Technology Marketing methods (on technology needs assessments, country selection, business strategy, market environment and structure analysis and market entry strategy, licensing), information sources for transnational entrepreneurship, and relevant internal and external contacts in the public and private sectors. - Conduct market research und organise webinars/interviews to support the business development phase of two DLR spin-off projects in space weather, wind power and digitalisation. The German Aerospace Center, DLR, is the Federal Republic of Germany's national research center for aeronautics and space, transport, energy, security and digitalisation. DLR Technology Marketing (TM) works in concert with other institutes and includes industrial partners at the earliest possible time to turn research findings into usable technologies. Besides, DLR TM investigates markets and trends, develops innovative ideas, secures competitive advantages through property rights, conclude agreements on the commercial exploitation of DLR technologies, and provide assistance with the setting-up of DLR spin-offs. This internship took place during the COVID-19 pandemic and was an opportunity to leverage the potential of digital tools for networking among peers and EU professionals, organising online webinars with universities and private actors for youth outreach and self-development. Tasks included: - Draft comprehensive reports about 2020 EU presidency's programmes in Croatia and Germany (liasing with national institutions) and and about human rights and the economy in North Macedonia and Georgia and edit trimestrial bulletins with former MEPs' inputs. - Build new website for the EP Former Members Association (via Wordpress). - Organise webinars within the framework of the "EP to Campus" programme with universities and manage visits of delegations to national parliaments for fall 2020. - Strategic communication, PR and Outreach activities. Activities: Private Public (Lobbying and Consulting Subgroup) and Public Sector (NGO and Think Tanks Subgroup) Subcommittees of the Schuman Trainee Committee (STC), in charge organising events with Brussels-based entities - EU offices, NGOs and private companies; Inter-institutional Networking Week (EC-EP-CE) Event Coordinator for Defence. The only directly elected EU body, the European Parliament represents the EU’s 447 million inhabitants and plays a key role in electing the President of the European Commission. It shares power over the EU budget and legislation with the Council of the European Union. The Directorate-General for the Presidency is at the heart of Parliament’s activities and has a crucial role to play from the time when a procedure is launched in Parliament and until its conclusion.
