      I have been managing IT for the charity sector for the last 21 years. I am able to identify opportunities for technology and implement effective strategies. My original role at DEBRA was to develop the CRM that was failing to produce an effective fundraising strategy. I worked with the Fundraising and Marketing team to develop the prospects within the data and helped to ensure that the data was cleansed and fit for purpose. I was part of a team that developed the membership database to ensure its growth so that the EB community was informed of research and networking opportunities. I worked to understand the database structure and created procedures and training manuals to ensure the database was used effectively across the various levels of management in the charity. My role involves providing IT technical support to 120 store managers, 80 office-based staff and 30 remote staff with varying levels of IT literacy. I have developed training materials and video tutorials to support this function. I have worked to replace a philosophy of IT reacting to the demands of the charity to one where I now have an IT strategy that is part of the business planning process. I have written the business continuity plan for IT and have had a very active role working alongside the Data Protection Officer developing the GDPR strategy, documentation and training materials for DEBRA. I have experience with SQL, I am an advanced user of Excel and can program in EXCEL VBA. These skills have proved invaluable to streamline reports and processes. The IT department has recently been expanded to combine the functions of the Retail Gift Aid team and the CRM team. I am overseeing all of the work and creating the strategies and making the decision for the whole department. This has included ensuring there is a succession plan within the department. Show less
