  Martin graduated in 1979 from the University of Canterbury. He moved to the West Coast, becoming a partner in the Greymouth firm Hannan & Seddon in 1987. He moved to Christchurch and joined Corcoran French as a partner in 2000. He became Managing Partner of the firm in 2010. Martin practices in the litigation area including Civil and Estate Claims, ACC, Resource Management, Local Government, Employment and Leaky Home Claims. His Court appearances include High Court, Court of Appeal, District Court and Environment Court. He acts for a wide variety of clients including two local authorities.
