As the Quality Manager at UK Electronics, one of my mains roles is to continuously review our practices and procedures to ensure that we maintain a high standard of product quality, along with excellent customer satisfaction. I constantly look at ways to improve our systems for an aim of “zero defects” by measurement, review and frequent audits. Prior to my current role as Quality Manager, I worked in the electronics industry for 15 years, taking on various roles from PCB assembling, chip programming, SMT operative, inspection and rework to functional testing. This in my opinion gives me a good grounding to be on hand to deal with any customer queries on a one to one basis.At the end of September 2013 I become a certified IPC 610 Trainer, and as a result, it is now my responsibility to train all supervisors and production operatives to the IPC-A-610 standard.I have also attended two significant training courses over the past year, covering both ISO9001 (QMS) and ISO14001 (EMS), which complements my role as quality Manager nicely for I am heavily involved with this on a daily basis. A major aspect of this would be the audits I conduct on a monthly basis which forms evidence for our yearly ISO inspection/recertification.
