Serve as liaison to Iowa Department of Education, Adult Education and Literacy Program. Collaborate with other AEL Directors and state consultants on projects. Participate in state meetings and trainings. Serve as a board member on Mississippi Valley Workforce Development Board and member of the Disability Access Committee. Participate in monthly and quarterly meetings of the MVWDB, DAC, WIOA Core Partners, MOU Partners, and Business Services Team. Serve as liaison to Iowa Department of Corrections and supervise correctional education program at Iowa State Penitentiary (maximum security) and Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility (minimum security). Collaborate with facility personnel to provide secondary education and vocational classes. Participate in monthly meetings with IDOC personnel, other liaisons, and coordinators. Supervise and evaluate the performance of AEL instructors, ABE/HiSET Records Specialist, Corrections Education Coordinator, HiSET Chief Examiner, and support personnel at the SCC Centers. Supervise the development and delivery of AEL services. Establish program policies and procedures and ensure program compliance with local, state, and federal policies and regulations. Compile documentation and complete reports required for program and fiscal monitoring. Develop and monitor program budgets to ensure funds are expended according to regulations. Work collaboratively with the business office to maintain accurate and timely accounting. Analyze data to evaluate services and inform program decisions. Oversee the collection of program data and assure the integrity of data collection processes. Seek funding opportunities to support AEL. Develop grant proposals and manage grant contracts. Provide administrative oversight of HSED testing to assure alignment with local and state goals. Coordinate HSED graduation ceremonies in collaboration with the chief examiner and AEL personnel.
