Inclusive design is an interdisciplinary Master’s Degree program run at the Fine Arts Academy in Katowice, Poland. The lectures and workshops are conducted in Polish and English. A good design is a reflection of the designer’s creative skills combined with innovation and technological potential. This holistic approach to the design process lies at the heart of Inclusive Design. As a Student, I am not only developing creative skills, but also gaining confidence to take up and tackle bold design challenges. The main methodology used across the various studios I work with, is so called ‘double diamond’ and ‘design thinking’. Both methodologies focus on understanding the needs and expectations of the users which helps to develop the best possible design solutions. As part of the design studio, I work across diverse teams that help me to polish my collaboration skills, and as a part of research, that I conduct in preparation for each new project, I get to practice various research skills with a special focus on IDI, Qual/Quat research, user centrist approach and UX research. In my design work, I borrow a lot from my previous work experiences gained while working at a dialogue center and as part of the internal audit function at a large global organization. Multi-stakeholder partnership, dialogue, conflict resolution and conflict prevention skills combined with the user-centric design and inclusive design creates a new quality for design.
