Marston worked for me this summer help get Learnivore off the ground by seeding the D.C. market with high quality arts instructors. It was a HARD job, particularly as the site had just launched and was effectively in beta, and as such had bugs which he and others on the team had to work with would-be instructors to diagnose. The job included incredibly active social media activity and outreach across LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, as well as any other possible outlets to try and raise awareness of Leanrivore, as well as to reach out to possible instructors and get them to engage with the site. Marston was a pleasure to work with, knuckling down and doing the hard work of cold-calling in addition to the more typical marketing work of content creation, and social media engagement. Marston was great at self-managing (he was working remotely to goals), and as such when he found that he was getting bogged down, was able to re-direct his efforts to other areas, rather than chug along at 20% productivity. He did this by identifying and then executing useful projects. For example, we had 36 people working on this this summer, using a variety of different tactics and channels. Marston did a quantitative analysis of his own efforts to identify the best language/message and length for each of the different channels, as well as the expected conversion rates for each based on appropriate message targeting and length. Marston is incredibly bright, with aptitudes in many different areas, and the ability to apply his aptitudes in different areas (e.g. music and engineering) to achieve really great things (ask to see the electric guitar he built). That said, he does not let his intelligence or aptitude get in the way of getting work done because he is
