      The Dubai World Trade Centre has built a reputation of being the epicentre of business tourism in the region since 1979 through the provision of exhibitions, event management, facilities management and hospitality services to local, regional and international visitors. This is where the Visitor Services department was birthed, as the primary point of contact for any visitor arriving at or calling the Dubai World Trade Centre’s exhibition halls. The visitor services department was in need of a professional who would add value by training the department based on five star hotel standards and principles in customer service and general etiquette. The department had not been trained on these principles before I was hired for the job. My responsibilities included: •Overhauled a department of seven employees that did not know the essence of customer care and general etiquette with its customers by introducing 5 star standards of service excellence delivery. •Transcribed a service-training manual that was used as a reference by the staff members to improve service delivery. •Transformed staff’s telephone and general etiquette by standardising telephone pickup response time and response to every phone call made at the DWTC through the service manual. •Conducted and remodelled performance appraisals for staff members whilst motivating them to get the job done.
