Since having joined the team I have been heavily involved in a number of different projects like adding video support to Visual Tours tour viewer by building a front end mvc page with drag and drop multi file upload. This was a Javascript intensive project. I have also been writing typescript libraries in an effort to speed up development and standardize the way we call our Web services by implementing promises and other patterns of development. This has greatly improved readability and maintainability.I have also worked on building a Web API for handling some of our uploads as well as a windows service which hosts an open Web interface (OWIN) that allows other processes to to check in and post logging data and sends out alerts to the team if servers go down or if critical errors occur. These alerts are sent out to a list of people via emails and text messages.

Explanation of some time overlap:While at Genera, our company contracted some of my time to work for GAPC. This project was a pleasant return to web development which i had missed over the last few years. I have continued to do some contract work for GAP since having left Genera (they were kind enough to let me continue working on this project on my own). Working with a team of developers to create grower id system, a web application used to track education and training for 7000+ growers. Also assisting with centralized audit recording system for grower farms.Previously:- Helped develop user registration page using jQuery Ajax library to make calls to webservice.- Used Knockout.js jQuery library to bind javascript view model to asp.net controls.- Developed controls allowing growers to record field data, herbicides, pesticides, and other field inputs along with field notes and dates of application.Currently:- Developing the audit assessments via InfoPath and custom validation using code behind. This allows auditors to work remotely in an offline environment and submit forms to SharePoint at a later date.- Extending a wcf data service to allow for OData queries across multiple data contexts (multiple databases) to simplify the web service calls.- Developing Grower Profile page to record pre-audit data about grower/farm to pre-populate audit questionnaire fields.- Developed assessment forms using InfoPath and provided some custom validation via code behind (C#).- Developed parsing algorithm and data schema for pulling data from form (XML) into SQL data base using .NET xml libraries and some LINQ to XML.

Genera's primary software and technology specialist responsible for the development of the feedstock supply chain model and other duties as assigned, including writing assignments for model documentation and monthly entries for Genera's blog.- Developed Excel-based optimization model for Genera's business team on a tight deadline in the first two months.- Worked with agronomists to streamline collection of farming budgets and migrate them from spreadsheets to MS SQL Server to centralize sensitive company data.- Developed WPF .NET client application (over the next two years) using Microsoft Foundation Solver and an open source optimization engine (lpsolve) that models supply chain systems to help the business team understand the economics of seed technology improvements, planting techniques, harvesting and staging systems, storage practices and transport costs.- Created data base schema and leveraged Entity Framework 4.0 as part of the solution.- Developed tools utilizing NASS web services to quickly collect land use raster data via .NET (C#)- Analyzed land use data using ArcGIS spatial analysis tools to get accurate road mileages from farm plots to plant gate for the supply chain model.- Installed new web server for hosting model data and feedstock model client application allowing remote users to run model from their local machines via remote desktop connection.- Assisted in several feasibility studies by providing modeling support and provided many of the graphs and charts used in the reports. Also participated in writing several sections of the report.

Created registration pages for a large scale event using ASP.NET web forms for a large school district in the midwest. Worked closely with the customer to gather requirements and demonstrated the system via web conference as part of the final deliverable. This was an extremely short turn around as the project had already been delayed for several months due to the recent take over of another company.

This was an hourly contract to finish the development of the Burley Planner Project - a financial decision tool for tobacco farmers that calculates projected returns for various economic scenarios and investment options. This was an interesting little introduction to Java Beans for me as I had spent much of my time in the Microsoft stack. - Expanded tool to allow farmers to enter total costs instead of per acre costs. - Corrected several calculation errors for Net Present Value on the projected returns. - Made the tool available using Java's WebStart platform.

I primarily worked on the content management system for BLUeCommerce, an enterprise scale solution for eCommerce sites. Added CMS support for tiered pricing project which included writing stored procedures (T-SQL) against a MS SQL Server backend. Developed web forms, leveraging AJAX toolkit, to create a more responsive page and overall better user experience. Improved several filtering and search stored procedures by cleaning up the joins to help the data grids load faster.
