Managing and developing an innovative and collaborative court program to positively impact the homeless community entering the local court system through municipal violations. This is being accomplished through the support of the Center for Court Innovation, NY, with grant funding through the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). I manage the program grant while overseeing all program operations to include support staff of 6 people and working in partnership with other court personnel, such as judges, attorneys, case Managers, etc. Furthermore I manage partnerships with 16 different social service agencies and conduct various grant activities towards the development of the program. With over 80 cases seen within a seven-month period, and over 20 successful cases, Community Court is making a name for its self during this early stage of development. As an administrator for this program, my collaboration with the County Courthouse, the County Government, the City of Fort Lauderdale and various other agencies is crucial to the overall success of Community Court. CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE Core Competencies: *Process Improvement*Budget Management* Program Management & Development*Project Management*Team-building & Leadership *Oral & Written Communication*Inter-agency * Departmental Collaboration* Research & AnalysisAs a Senior Management Fellow, I manage both programs and departmental projects. Namely, I have had the honor to work in the realm of civic engagement and participation by running five programs in the Office of Neighbor Support. I engage with our residents and manage community programs that serves the interest of the community. Ultimately I want our residents to know that there are ways in which they can positively contribute to their neighborhoods, my job is to make sure they are aware of the options and to encourage them to participate. In addition, I am currently developing an additional program to assist with the City's storm water infrastructure which will create an opportunity for residents to be part of the solution. As a project manager I work across various departments, to include Human Resources, Finance, Police, the City Manager's Office, Transportation & Mobility and the Department of Sustainable Development to implement initiatives of priority to our commission and senior management. I assist managers with carrying forward projects of various kinds through time management, coordination, analysis and collaboration with those in and outside of the organization. From developing/revising policies to researching and implementing services via public-private partnerships, I am like a jack-of-all-trades. As an inspiring City Manager, I desire to be a part of the continual progression local government is experiencing. As times change, so will local government practices as it relates to services and how we deal with human resources ( recruitment and retention). I look forward to seeing how my interest for innovation and "next practices" will shape the future of the communities I will serve. Show less
