      I was employed as a Lead Prosthetic Therapist at Exeter Mobility Centre. My primary responsibility was to provide a specialist assessment and rehabilitation service to the 1200 upper and lower limb amputees registered with the centre. I act as a source of expertise on the rehabilitation of amputees and people with limb deficiencies, and provide an advisory service to patients, therapists, students and other healthcare professionals including GP's andConsultants. As the clinical lead in the rehabilitation team I was responsible for the planning, co-ordinating, delivery and evaluation of the prosthetic service to all patients registered with the Exeter Mobility Centre on a day to day basis across Devon and Somerset. It was my role to ensure that the prosthetic patients have access to the services that they may require by assessing their individual needs, ensuring good communication with the various specialist teams and referring on as required.       I was responsible for providing a highly skilled rehabilitation programme to the amputee and limb deficient patients who attended the centre and the satellite clinics, liaising with and advising other professionals involved in their care. As a generic therapist I have experience of working across boundaries and was involved in the walking training of amputees as well as the more traditional Occupational Therapy tasks of home visits and ensuring the patients could transfer the skills learnt at the centre to their home environment.
