As a Licensed Professional Teacher with a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education-Major in Special Education, I have been working as a home-based facilitator who runs an individualized program for a child with autism together with the family for over 2 years now. I do social play therapy inside the playroom which aims to equip my student with appropriate social skills starting with the people in their home; from family members to non-family members of the household, to peers, and eventually to people of different walks of life. Along with this, I also teach subject areas like Science, English, and Math as part of my role. In September 2019, I was sent to Japan for one of the training courses for the Son-Rise Program of the Autism Treatment Center of America. 2 months later, I went to Malaysia to train for another training course for the Son-Rise Program. In January 2020, I was trained for the Global Autism Solutions approach led by its director, which is focused on individualized social play therapy for children with autism. Show less
