Afrikar was an adventure tour operator specializing in off road adventure tours. This was my own company and running it drew from all my experience, galvanizing the many disciplines I had gained in tourism into a complete operation. This includes sales, marketing, transfers, route planning, accommodation, provisioning, catering, guiding, entertaining and accounting. Afrikar was involved in several charity projects to uplift the local community in rural Zulu land. One of our main projects was teaching English to both adults and children. We created customized learning materials and lesson plans based on different levels and needs. Our school projects expanded to Johannesburg, Cape Town and Graaff Reinet where I worked as an English teacher at local schools. In Johannesburg we started a home schooling project at an orphanage to teach children with learning disabilities. Show less
