I have known Marlize van der Merwe since September 2014 as the Corporate Public Relations Officer at the Western Province Blood Service (WPBTS) in my capacity as her manager. I worked closely with Marlize in her role of my direct report. Marlize is professional, efficient, highly organised and extremely competent. Her communication skills, both written and verbal, are excellent, which she embraced in her role of company spokesperson and in building relationships with stakeholders. Furthermore, what distinguishes Marlize is her commitment to customer service and providing solutions to customers’ and stakeholders’ needs. She is a committed individual who takes initiative and ownership for any project she undertakes. In summary, I highly recommend Marlize for any endeavour in the Communications/Marketing/Brand environment, as she will be a valuable asset.

I’ve been fortunate enough to work with Marlize for well over two years. During this period she has shown dedication to her work and has also lead her team successfully due to her natural leadership abilities. She has a passion for communication and technology and will find innovate ways to communicate to her audience. She is project driven and meets deadlines given to her.
