    • Red, Hot and Blue Summer Camp Founder/Director
      • Jul 2002 - Jul 2005

I was the founder and director of Red, Hot & Blue Adventure Camp. The camp sponsored by the Lakeway Parks and Recreation Department and was held in Lakeway City Park. The well-organized camp was centered on activities involving nature, physical fun, and art. Mayor Charles Edwards called the Red, Hot & Blue camp “a quality program provided to the children of Lakeway” and explained that this pilot program was a successful first venture into a Lakeway Parks and Recreation Department “summer camp.” The one and only goal of this camp was to provide some enjoyable recreation for the local children at the end of the summer when both children and parents are starting to look for things to do. Lakeway City Park was, for a week, a place to do all of the messy stuff that parents don’t like to do at home! Show less

    • Dance Team Director/Dance & Physical Education Instructor (Anderson High School)
      • Jun 1985 - Jun 1995

As the sole Dance Director for the award winning Trojan Belles Dance team, I was a mentor, leader, fundraiser and instructor for a 50+ member dance team comprised of girls ages 14 – 18. I was tasked with guiding these students through rigorous mental and physical fitness and dance training while acting as a mentor/parent figure. This dance team performed and competed in Texas as well as England, the Bahamas and several Hawaiian islands. This job required extremely meticulous planning in order to schedule performances, competitions and travel, as well as to raise funds in excess of $100,000 to operate on the years in which extensive traveling was planned. As the only dance teacher at Anderson High School, I had a full load of dance courses which included instructing students of all ability levels including a large number of special needs students. Instruction involved various dance genres including jazz, tap, modern and ballet with an emphasis on health and physical fitness. Show less
