I had the pleasure of working with Mark for three years and would gladly work with him again, if given the chance. Mark works tirelessly until not only are his solutions beautiful on the outside, but also on the inside; He cares about the quality and readability of his code more than most engineers I've met. And after all his extra efforts to make things perfect, he doesn't seek attention or praise, but humbly moves on to the next thing needing his expertise. In those three years, I watched Mark use that expertise to design and code responsive websites, interact with third-party APIs, and write Objective-C for use in MacOS and iOS apps. He's a swiss-army knife who goes the extra mile to deliver happiness to his customers and coworkers. Above and beyond his technical skills and work-ethic, Mark forges meaningful relationships extending beyond the office walls. This makes working with Mark extremely pleasant. The camaraderie he generates with his coworkers always means he'll go to bat for them -- and they'll do the same for him. Mark is a great developer and a great friend. Having him on your team will yield so much more than just code.

If I had to describe Mark in a single word, it would be "versatile". On the technical side, his wide range of skills allow him to dive into everything from front end design to app development to databases and operations. During the 4 years Mark worked for me at 4moms, he routinely employed these diverse skills to help build best practices in all of these areas, plus other areas like testing and Agile development. Mark was always in high demand with customers outside of software too because of his incredible work ethic, track record of delivering great results, and ability to work with a range of personalities and skills. If I were building a software team today to tackle a variety of tough challenges, I'd pick Mark in a heartbeat and I have no doubt that Mark would be an asset to any software team.
