Bureau reporter, state editor, Boise bureau manager
-
1978 - 1985
In this deadline-every-minute environment, I wrote and edited 10-15 stories per day. The Boise bureau was responsible for all Idaho news coverage. I covered the Idaho Legislature for seven years. Memorable stories included one about a state senator slugging a fellow senator in a Senate restroom and another about a senator choking a reporter in his Statehouse office. I covered a prison riot, a 7.3-magnitude earthquake and memorable trials including one for "Falcon and the Snowman" traitor Christopher Boyce and for the leader of the Aryan Nations neo-Nazi gang.
