In this volunteer capacity, I provide alpine instruction to students with any form of disability as well as training other instructors in appropriate methods for adapting ski instruction. In March, 2000, I received my Level II Adaptive Certification from PSIA, which allows me to teach people with cognitive, physical and/or sensory impairments the thrills of downhill skiing. The Outdoors for All Foundation is a national leader and one of the largest nonprofit organizations providing year round instruction in outdoor recreation for people with physical, developmental, and sensory disabilities. Outdoors for All’s year round programming includes snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross country and downhill skiing, cycling, hiking, river rafting, canoeing and kayaking, day camps, water skiing, rock-climbing, camping and Custom Events. Nuance purchased Swype in October 2011. Both T9 and Swype technologies evolved from ideas generated for people with disabilities. This role continues my work in enabling people with more efficient ways to communicate. In this roll, I find ways to address accessible markets that have applications in the mainstream market as well. Nuance purchased Swype in October 2011. Providing a faster and easier way to input text on any screen. Some users achieve 60+ WPM on a touch screen device. http://swype.com Founder and early developer of Swype. Thoroughly enjoyed work with Cliff Kushler, making Swype an input technology others chose to copy but never quite match. Ultimately managed all engineering - platforms, linguistics QA and automated test. Most proud of the culture we fostered at Swype as it allowed us to attract such a talented team.
