Our process now produces five distinct equity strategies - All Cap Value, Growth and Yield-Focus; Small Cap Value and Growth - and two bond strategies. I lead the Value Strategy Team, and am a member of the Yield-Focus Strategy Team and Macro Analysis Team. Value is our legacy equity strategy, which began prior to the formation of Meritage in 1991. Our value-driven Growth strategy began in 1998, and Yield-Focus was launched in 2003. We began incubation of our small cap strategy approaches at the end of 2008 using internal capital. Meritage manages an in depth platform of all-world, all-cap, diversifiable equity strategies for both private and institutional clients. A key distinction that we believe sets us apart and provides a tremendous benefit to all our clients is our comprehensive security selection process which scores, ranks and screens over 6,000 securities worldwide, on a continuous basis. Only the best ranked securities, approximately the top 4% of the universe, are candidates for purchase. This clear cut, systematic decision making process has been under continuous development and improvement over the life of our firm. Show less

1981 - 1991
Kansas City, Missouri Area I led the Core Value Group at Reimer & Koger where our current (Meritage) value-centric philosophy was born and began its growth. The early architecture for our comprehensive equity decision-making process – affectionately called the Mark System – took shape during these years.

Greater Chicago Area At Continental, I led a three person final selection committee, and was Director of Research in charge of approximately 30 analysts, who formed the framework for an increasingly systematic decision-making process. I also provided direct management, utilizing our analyst-driven process, for some of the Continental’s leading pooled and comingled funds.
