I run a department of several teams responsible for the continuing availability and support of the various Digidentity products and services. This includes our eRecognition (eHerkenning) products, SSL certificates and the various identity assurance programs, such as Gov UK Verify. I maintain and monitor our service levels, based on the SLA’s I drafted and negotiated. With the Covid-19 crisis, Brexit repercussions and various other global and company related changes, I am tasked to restructure and expand the servicedesk. To this end I am engaged in recruiting, training, and moving personal. Creating new teams for both support, finance, and quality control as well as a supporting staff team. To this end, I’ve streamlined recruiting and onboarding, working both with various agencies and support organizations across Europe as well as running a direct recruitment drive locally.I am a stakeholder in our in-house software development. I identity, relay, and champion the features my teams identify to be included in our products. I sign off on releases of our software as representative of our user base and support teams.

    • Technical Liaison
      • May 2009 - Apr 2010

Consultancy work on behalf of Collis BV Within the scope of the Dutch Road Pricing Project I worked as a technical liaison between the testing team and certification team as well as the system architecture team. The project operated in line with the ISO 15288 Systems Engineering standards. The goal of the Dutch Road Pricing Project was to record individual travelled kilometres using GPS. Using this data individual cars can be taxed based on distance travelled, vehicle type, road type and time of travel. This system was purposed to reduce and control congestion and CO2 levels on the Dutch roads. In this capacity I worked intimately with ITS technology, Road Pricing and Traffic Management systems and the related back offices and the enforcement systems based on DSRC and LPR camera’s. I was part of the interface workgroup tasked with the evaluation and redefining of the interfaces within the project. Also, I was part of an interdisciplinary workgroup defining the requirements on interoperability of OBU’s, from different suppliers and connecting them to the various back offices, of both public and private service providers. It was my task to provide a critical viewpoint on the various technical subjects, such as interfaces, security and feasibility of the system as a whole. In this role I maintained contacts with a diverse number of public, commercial and non commercial parties. Such as the Dutch National Vehicle Authority, the Fine Collection Agency of the Dutch Justice Department and commercial suppliers.

Verispect is the Dutch legal authority on the Metrology Act, Gambling Act and Hallmarking Act. Together with the sister organisation, Certin BV, Verispect plays a vital part in the certification of gambling machines and subsequently access to the Dutch market for such machines. At Verispect I had the role of technical advisor and monitor as liaison of Verispect to Certin. It was my task to assist in maintaining a current and sound certification process, concerning state of the art gambling machines and to represent the interests of Verispect in that area. These machines consisted of integrated systems using both commonly available and sector unique hard- and software. Consisting of, among other things, pseudo random number generators, payment and tracking systems and anti theft and anti tempering systems. As well as the different interfaces between those systems. It was my responsibility to evaulate the security and usuability of those interfaces. Also, at Verispect I managed the migration from three separate database applications to a single integrated system. This involved getting various technical parties to work on a single project, divided into sub projects. The three different database systems consisted of information concerning customers, businesses and the various objects, such as scales and gasoline pumps that were associated with those parties. While the technique the databases were working with was outdated, the information contained within them was current, valuable and very sensitive. It was my responsibility to manage the migration of those separate systems to a single new system, making sure none of the data was lost while also cleaning up the pollution that had been building up in the old systems over the years. Also among the responsibilities of that project where the definition of acceptance tests, the selection of the hardware for the embedded software to run on and the assembly of a qualified test team to perform the tests.
