Project Coordinator mechanical engineering

As a project Coordinator I was responsible for the coordination of the mechanical engineering of the Tocardo Tidal Power Plant project. This tidal energy central consists of a 1.2 MW array of T2 turbines. It will be installed in the Oosterschelde storm barrier, part of the famous Dutch Delta Works. The foundation system was specially designed for this project in such a way that the storm barrier constantly remains fully operational. The T2 turbines will be fitted with bi-directional rotor blades because the barrier only closes when a heavy storm approaches. This enables the turbines to generate electricity during ebb and flood.Special care was given to the environmental challenges around this operation as the Oosterschelde is a protected area and monitoring will therefore be an important part of the project.The project will generate electricity for approximately 1000 Dutch households. As a senior Groupleader, i am responsible for the mechanical engineering group within Huisman konstrukce. This department consists of 35 design engineers. Main tasks are, provide technical support to the design engineers. Responsibility of planning and technical content of the design teams. Currently main projects are Multi Purpose Towers for offshore company Helix. Which are going to be installed on the helix Q7000, Siem 1 and Siem 2.

As lead engineer I am responsible for a Design team which consist of 4 till 6 persons. Main tasks are - Give technical support to the team members - report progress to Section Head - Monitor planning. During this period we have engineered several equipment for Pipelay systems. Some examples are a 2000mt Hang-off clamp for Heerema's Aegir, a 900mt Frictionclamp for the Seven Waves of Subsea 7 and a 3500mt Basket system for DOF.

Pipe-Racker system for Huisman Equiptment and a lot of Basic design work for Allseas's Pieter Schelte. As Design Engineer, I was responsible for the engineering of several Offshore projects.
