We initially developed a retail robot and later pivoted to a platform for automated retail similar in concept to Amazon Go, using computer vision and sensor instrumented shelves to track shoppers and products and generate a receipt on the fly without the need for checkout.   Restructured the engineering teams at NTENT to transition our search platform from hand-curated rules to machine learning. Completely rebuilt the core natural language engine around machine learning, increasing the quality of search results and greatly reducing the manual effort required to maintain the system. Moved infrastructure from proprietary scripts to a Kubernetes and Docker-based service architecture and introduced GPU model training. Updated the development team process to use continuous integration and test, significantly increasing the speed of product iteration.
