As a security officer I help to maintain a safe and secure environment for the client's employees as well as their visitors. This is done by monitoring both internal and external parameters of the client's properties, reporting any changes of everyday conditions, Screening all incoming personnel and vehicles to ensure unauthorized access is not permitted, and maintaining a good working relationship with the all personnel onsite to maximize constant and persistent communications. I work with various tanker ships visiting our Client's marine facility, monitoring the ship traffic and making appropriate notifications to affiliated officials in regards to any changes. I interact with ship crew members and visitors providing transportation and escort duties to and from the ship, and conduct Declarations of Security with the Vessel Security Officer to ensure that both parties are in agreement with security measures responsibility. As a safety equipment technician I inspected over 1200 fire extinguishers of various types and sizes to ensure they are in safe working order and in compliance with all NFPA standards as well as the manufacturer's specifications and recommendations. In the navy I was assigned to the U.S.S. Carl Vinson which is an aircraft carrier. I supervised over 270 sailors assigned to the weapons assembly division of the ship's weapons department and Ship's Security Force. I was tasked with ensuring 100% accurate inventory of millions of dollars worth of various munitions at all times as well as ensuring that proper storage and tie-down methods were being used at all times.
