VSU - Victoria Station Upgrade is a £700 Million redevelopment of the interchange between Victoria Station and Victoria Underground. I joined the monitoring and survey department in the early stages of the project and was initially responsible for creating the Emergency Preparedness Plans and Monitoring Implementation Plans for the project. Working closely with our designers to establish a site wide monitoring regime that would ensure early identification of any settlement trends. Trigger limits were established based on computerised predicted settlement profiles. The majority of our monitoring was being undertaken by sub-contractor, which required daily analysis of data being collected. I was involved in ensuring that client and third party contractual obligations were met by our own in house monitoring and also that of our sub-contractor (NEC 3) .Other responsibility included:- Planning and managing the installation of additional monitoring equipment/systems- Survey, monitoring and setting out tasks- Compiling monitoring reports during critical phases of tunneling Show less
