• Undertaking site investigations through the supervision of excavation equipment and drilling contractors to a maximum depth of 40m. Includes logging of soils and core. • Drilling to a maximum depth of 8m using a small truck-mounted rig using auger techniques. •. Drilling and offsiding using a hydrapower scout truck mounted drill rig using auger, washbore and NMLC coring techniques to depths up to 40m. • Supervision of the laboratory with regard to the completion of requested testing and checking of results against the field logs recorded including classification of the site. • Undertaking concrete slab investigations using both concrete core Australian standard methods and Schmidt hammer techniques to determine slab strength. Recording the data and creating factual reports regarding these results. • Undertaking the role of a technical officer for the Roadtest Laboratories by supervising proficiency testing, reporting on the results and implementing improvements in testing techniques. This role also includes the liaising with NATA and the completion of NATA response items regarding the ongoing assessments. • Undertaking material source assessment to allow quarries in Queensland to become main roads certified. This includes studying the geology of the site, creating a material management plan for the Quarry Manager to follow and managing the testing of materials to achieve passing results as per Australian Standards and Main Roads test methods. • Undertake factual report writing for geotechnical investigations done by myself or others within our company. This can includes some basic geotechnical interpretations.
