I’ve been working with Mark over a number of years and I am always impressed with both his enthusiasm and professionalism. The difference that he brings is that he always takes a partnership approach, keen to assist solving the business challenge rather than fall back on a standard

Mark did a great job for us at Sainsbury’s, by using onsite time to the maximum (building relationships, asking questions, showcasing the usage data) and bringing the usage data to life, using the simple and effective Health, Practicality and Enjoyment model. He succeeded in getting the business focussed on everyday foods that everyday people eat.

TRKR brings Food & Drink businesses closer to the attitudes, motivations and perceptions of shoppers & consumers. For many years I have worked in and around large corporates, SMEs and start-ups, and across a variety of sectors. Before setting up TRKR I was creating and testing innovative propositions with Market Gravity (now part of Deloitte) and spent 15 years with Kantar as a Business Unit Director responsible for Ireland and Scotland. The culmination of all this is a drive to see Food & Drink suppliers use customer insight to either develop their existing brand portfolio, or create new propositions with their shoppers' needs truly at the heart of their innovation process. Lastly we also bring incredible energy and enthusiasm to our clients, bringing their teams with us rather than "telling them". We believe strongly in a collaborative approach, and we'll care as much for your business as you do Background? Prior to Market Gravity I headed up Kantar Worldpanel in Scotland, and managed the business in Ireland including a team of 20 and a turnover of €4+ million. Alongside managing the running of the business, I worked with manufacturers and retailers from across all sectors within the grocery industry, helping them use market and customer insight to make better decisions. I also play the bagpipes....... Mark Show less

Leading innovation projects with Aldermore and Standard Life, I was also involved in the work behind the recent launch of B from Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank. Every big business is full of brilliant ideas and ambitious individuals looking to make them real. I worked with our MG clients to develop great ideas and make them real, quickly. First and foremost, as a project team we immersed ourselves in customer and market insight to identify opportunities and bring them to life. We then designed brilliant propositions and services and tested them live with customers. Finally we created and tested prototypes, provided commercial and storytelling support, including the go-to-market plan. Show less

My core responsibility is for the P&L of our Ireland business, as well as my team of 18 who are based in Dublin. Locally in Scotland, I am responsible for our client base, building strong relationships, helping clients use and and apply market insight to drive their business, as well as being an industry thought leader through organising my own industry events, and speaking at wider events as well as writing in the press. In 2013 I set up a series of workshops in Scotland to reach out to smaller SME's based around the theme of 'What retail buyers want' and collaborated with Scotland Food & Drink to deliver these. People engagement is also a real passion whereby I successfully led my team in Ireland to be accredited as part of Great Places to Work 2014. I am also involved in driving engagement across our GB team. Show less

After relocating back to Scotland at the end of 2005, I developed my role from primarily looking after, and growing our Scottish client base, to also being involved in working with our team in Ireland. This involved launching and marketing our new service there in 2007, helping to shape the strategic vision for the team, as well as driving new business growth through winning new clients such as Cadbury's. In Scotland I set up and hosted our annual client day which now runs every year as is attended by both manufacturers, producers, growers, government and retailers. I was also involved in helping to shape Scotland Food & Drink and contributed towards the government's new Scottish Food Policy. Show less

Working within our Consumer Usage Panels team, my core responsibility was to co-manage our foods usage team as well as being responsible for maintaining our existing clients, growing new relationships with those clients who had not used our service before such as Sainsbury's, and re-launching our food service offer and developing our business with Whitbread, KFC, McDonalds among others. One area I took pride in helping the team with was to develop new creative ways to bring the data to life, as well as making it relevant to our clients and their own planning cycle. Show less

This was my first role after university. I worked in a small and successful team within the upstream oil and gas industry. Much of my experience was gained in project management, website development, leading new projects with Department of Trade and Industry, as well as BP, ConocoPhillips, etc. This was my first role after university.
