I managed an annual caseload of between 40 and 50 engineering apprentices, the vast majority of which were studying at Level 3, an Advanced Apprenticeship. Following the EAL framework, each of the apprentices were set SMART targets from their inception through to completion. I was responsible for all elements of their training, liaising with their respective employers and updating college electronic systems to ensure the qualifications were correctly enrolled and to show progression. I maintained my own diary and organised appointments to complete bi-monthly reviews. I regularly met with employers to promote apprenticeships and build good customer relations. I am qualified to assess most aspects of Mecahnical Engineering including Polymer Processing.

Ramp Supervisor

It was my responsibility to ensure the safe loading and unloading of a variety of Military Cargo Transportation Aircraft. I supervised a team of ten people and often liaised with a number of different departments to ensure the correct cargo was on the right aircraft and, as importantly, in the right position on the plane to ensure safety of flight. We were always under scrutiny by our American counterparts to ensure the operation of loading and unloading was carried out to the highest standards and as quickly possible to ensure minimum disruption to the flight schedule.

Employed as a Technical Officer, my duties included maintaining Insurance Inspected equipment records, carrying out audits on contractors and raising orders to the value of £50k. I also acted as an Authorised Person (AP) in POL (Fuels) and frequently completed risk assessments and method statements before issuing the Permit to Work to maintenance teams and contractors.

Senior Production Supervisor

I was employed as a Senior Production Supervisor where I oversaw the production of Air-conditioning units. I was given the responsibility of ensuring orders were completed on time and met the demanding standards of the many customers. I ensured production targets were achieved on a weekly basis and with minimal wastage. I helped train other members of staff in the use of the variety of machinery within the company. I often liaised between departments to ensure minimal disruption to the production line and delivery team.

I gained experience in repairing a variety of amusement machines including slot machines, pool tables and jukeboxes etc.I also carried out cold calling and generation of new sales. I completed a five year apprenticeship in Toolmaking attaining a HNC in Mechanical Engineering.I worked in the toolroom for a number of years before moving into the company's own training department. Here I was responsible for training six apprentices to NVQ Level 2 in Engineering.I delivered training in the company's in-house NVQ training centre where I taught basic techniques such as Hand-fitting, Milling, Turning, Surface Grinding and Fabrication/Welding.
