Ellwanger Home: Winterset, Iowa A New 1,900 Square Foot home with 4 Bedrooms and a walk out Lower Level. It is set in the “modernist” style with redwood lap-board siding complemented by fiber cement board panels. It will be set into the hillside with tree lined views all around. The idea was to see through the home and have nearly 360 views out from the interior. At dark the stair will glow with a custom hung pendant fixture designed by a local artist. Lauridsen Renovation: Des Moines, Iowa This is a gut renovation to a mid-century modern home built in 1955 by well-known Des Moines Resident David Kruidenier. With the new owner, my Job was as design lead. I wanted to respect the classic in subtle ways by raising the roof up in the Kitchen and Bedroom Suites areas. (Getting more headroom was also part of the client’s desire) Connelly Addition: Des Moines, Iowa A 500 Square Foot addition on to an existing garage for a Mother-in Law Suite.

I worked as the project architect and my responsibilities were to follow through from design development through to construction documentation and administration. I drew construction details such as a leaded copper “Yankee gutter”, column and porch details, stair sections and details, enlarged plans of fireplaces, mill working packages then coordinated with the contractor in the field.
