I was initially contracted by Faritec Limited to investigate, and develop a business case for an e-commerce related opportunity for the group. We identified Electronic Invoice Presentation and Payment (EIPP) as a potential service and developed a business case. I then stayed on to start the business. I was responsible for: ◆ Developing the initial business plan, including detailed financial models. ◆ Conceptualising the solution by meeting with potential customers and partners to ascertain specific requirements and assess alternatives. ◆ Developing the conceptual solution into functional specifications for the development of a software product that would be required to run the service. ◆ Managing the development team through all phases of the software development. ◆ Planning and management of many of the projects that were required to initiate the business. ◆ Negotiating service level agreements with external service providers and managed the delivery of the services. ◆ Extensive involvement in the sales process from the identification of leads through to sales presentations and drafting proposals. ◆ General management, including budgeting, reporting, forecasting and staff.
