My role is to assist with all technical facets of project delivery within the transportation team in Basingstoke. I am currently also helping to manage the workload of technical staff within the transport team, as well as helping train and improve there technical knowledge and skills. I assist with the production of Technical reports, and also research to justify future proposals to help support any proposed developments. This leads to me having an involvement in different styles of development including small and large scale residential schemes, as well as employment and leisure sites. I still carry out the roles of my previous position, although i now have more direct interaction with clients, helping to keep them informed with the progress of projects and the reasoning behind any proposals. My role was to assist with all facets of project delivery within the transportation team in Basingstoke. This ranged from assisting with the production of Transport Assessment, Transport Statements and Technical Notes. My main focus though was to produce the technical aspect of project delivery with a main focus on proposed junction mitigation designs, site layout review and junction capacity assessments using the relevant software tools of ARCADY, PICADY, Linsig and Transyt.

• My role is to carry out technical inspections within the Major Maintenance projects on roads within the Area 3 network of the Highways Agency. In order to do these tasks I need to utilise whatever software packages are require.Throughout my time with Enterprisemouchel I have worked solely on major maintenance schemes within the Highways Agency’s Area 3 boundary. My input into schemes has mostly been drainage designs to improve substandard networks. I volunteered myself to pick up this area of work as there was nobody within the team who could do drainage design in our office. I have successfully designed drainage layouts on the M4 motorway, namely Baydon (J14-J15) & Woodlands St. Mary(J14-J15). I have also had heavy technical involvement in the design of pavements and safety barrier improvements on the same schemes. I have also worked on calculating the amount of delay that is incurred by using various Traffic Management arrangements and written reports to supplement TM selection. Show less

My role was to carry out preliminary design work for proposed developments. In order to do this I use an array of software. Throughout my time within WSP I have worked on jobs of varying scales in terms of both size and input. This ranges from designing a simple priority access to a small development and assessing the operation with PICADY, to working on larger jobs where multiple junction design and road realignments have been necessary in order to gain access to the proposed development, as well as all the junction analysis to go with this. I also assist my team in developing the figures to go into out transport assessments using CorelDraw in order to produce illustrative plans, and excel to show the transport movements in the surrounding area of the site. All design work that I do is carried out to standards within DMRB volume 6. I also have knowledge of Manual for Streets for any design work carried out within areas deemed to be home zones. Some of the projects that I have worked on at the pre planning phase have been: Northstowe Eco Town in Cambridge-9,500 new homes. My involvement on this scheme was to produce technical drawing to support the pre planning application as well as getting involved in the junction capacity calculations. West Horsham & Broadbridge Heath in Horsham-My involvement in this scheme was to design & assess potential junction improvements to 7 existing junction in the area surrounding the proposed development including up scaling a standard roundabout to full signalisation. I was also involved in assessing the accident statistics on the affected routes to the site. Beaumont School in St. Albans-My job was to sign a new access that could accommodate buses, Bus Parking & a large enough turning area to allow the buses to exit. I also had to design a car park for 181 vehicles as well as footways & cycleways. I also had to assess the vehicle movements within the design in order to assure the client that the design could work in practise. Show less
