Responsible for managing two datacenters and the North American operations team with a budget of $2 million. Web sites were swapswire.com, Markit Trade Manager (mtp.markit.com) and Markitserv Portfolio Reconciliation (portrec.markitserv.com). Managed the DBAs, Network Engineers and System admins responsible for the servers, networks, databases, security, DR Testing, change control and 200+ servers in two datacenters. Consolidated from three to two data centers – Managed a data center move from 3 datacenters into 2 new datacenters. This project included purchasing new server and network hardware, new OS and DB installation, QA testing, business signoff and a cutover weekend. Outlined and detailed a project plan to systematically move the systems to new datacenters. Performed presentations to senior staff detailing the system configuration and interconnects. Negotiated and resolved many issues to create the most efficient merger plan of systems and datacenters and executed the plans successfully. Budget of $3m. Used Oracle 11G RAC, HP blades and servers, Cisco Nexus, Checkpoint, F5 network equipment, VMWare and Netapp for storage. Show less
