Biomed was one of the first companies in Poland to apply for protection under the new Polish restructuring law (sort of chapter 11 equivalent) in January 2016 following the company's failed attempt to build a national plasma fractioning business which left the company with over 100 mln PLN of debts on annual sales of 40 mln PLN at the end of 2015.
