Over a period of ten years was selected for and delivered four independent warship commands ranging from small patrol vessels to two successive periods in command of Royal Naval frigates, including a period as Commanding Officer to HRH Prince William of Wales. Reviewed, devised and implemented new management and staff structures and processes for a critical, 70-man Command Headquarters in a high tempo, multinational operational environment. Led, planned and delivered a high profile national deployment to the Atlantic and South Atlantic operational zones for 8 months in the pursuit of HM Government objectives including collaboration with other government departments. Liaised with government and civilian agencies to plan, co-ordinate and lead complex engineering and operational training projects to ensure the successful emergence of a Royal Naval aircraft carrier and frigate from extended maintenance and refit packages. Developed and conducted regular briefings to Cabinet and CEO level on future planned and contingency operations across the Middle East. Advised, in the capacity of a subject matter leader, on future (20-25 years) global maritime operations for the Ministry of Defence. Show less
